Just finished it this morning. Was totally hooked, loved it and the characters and the Greek mythology theme. Also liked the ending which is unusual!

It reminded me of Station Eleven and liked seeing the past world through the eyes of the future, surrounded by useless relics that made little sense in the post-apocalyptic world.

Interested to see what the rest of my bookclub makes of it. Think it'll be a mixed bag!

One of my favourites. Even more horrifying that contagion is a real thing. Now try The boy who crossed the bridge. It’s the prequel and fills in some gaps and you’ll love that ending too.

I'm recommending it to anyone that will listen! I thought it was ever so well written and thought it was similar in its moral code to An Inspector Calls, which is probably a bit left field. In that the unlikeable character perusing a seemingly morally dubious path is actually the one acting for the greater good and the emotionally attached characters are putting the individual at the centre rather than a more fair (human, in the case of TGWATG) society overall. Very interesting

Avoid the film though...

Personally, I enjoyed the film although it was fairly odd knowing some of the filming locations.

Can now dream of them converting Carey's Felix Castor series.

Read it for £1 on my Kindle years ago. Not my usual fare but hooked from the beginning.
