What was the last book you read that made you cry?

It must be years since I read a book that made me cry but today reading Neil Cross's Luther The Calling, I have cried out loud when the pensioner and his dog were terrorised.
What books have made you cry?

Home Fire made me burst into tears at the end. That doesn’t happen often.

The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer me too! On a train. Most unlike me.

Recently, The Flight of Cornelia Blackwood was incredibly sad.

This is Going to Hurt (the reason the author left medicine) had me sobbing. I warned DH not to read that part on the train but he was totally unphased by it. There was a part much earlier in the book that had me crying with laughter too!

A Place For Us.

The Kite Runner had me sobbing at parts. Also The Butterfly Lion, which is a children's book, I cried at the end!

The Hearts invisible furies

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah ....made me sob! Beautiful book.

A Monster Calls - proper sobs
Perfect - Rachel Joyce (most of her books make me cry in a good way though)

Perfect by Rachel Joyce for me too- it's so poignant. It's my favourite book by her.

Moonlight by Sarah Crossan. Had me in bits at the end.

The Salt Path by Raynard Wynne. The couple lose their home and go on a very long walk. Pretty emotional,

Just read My Name Is Anna which I loved, and found myself crying.

In Shock by Dr Rana Awdish. It’s brilliant and taught me loads.

The Fifth Season by N K Jemisin. I was in pieces on the bus and had to stop reading it.
