My dh's birthday is coming up and he has asked for a 'good' book on wines. I have absolutely no idea what to buy, can anyone help out please? I think he wants a book telling him about different types of wine rather than advising on what to buy e.g. Superplonk (a fine book )

One by Oz Clarke and another bloke here .

Or this one by Robert Parker, he's the chap who gives wines points out of 100.

(I like Superplonk too )

Larousse Encyclopaedia of Wine - this is a gastronome's guide I think!

Have a look round Amazon, chonky!

(How's your little darling btw? Any luck with the black and whites?)

Thanks JanH, I'll take a look. I'd personally rather have a case of wine than a book about it .

My dd's doing great thanks - her vision is coming along a treat. Back to the hozzy for a review starting Monday, along with hearing tests, so fingers crossed all goes OK.
