Was thinking of buying this triology by Alexander McCall Smith on the basis of enjoying his other books so much.

Before I do has anyone read them? Any feedback good or bad?

Much appreciated!

I've read the Sausage Dog one and another whose name I forget. Both very sweet and charming but without, I thought, that special edge that Mma Ramotswe has. I got them from the library and was glad not to have bought them. However, I've just finished the last of the Detective Agency books - as good as ever. I especially feel for her as I too am 'traditionally built'

Agree with wickedstepmum, I have read one (can't remember title) and started the sausagedog one months ago and don't care if I get round to finishing it or not. They are charming but just don't have the pull to make me go and finish it.

I have read all the no1 ladies detective agency books and found them brilliant.

I agree. I bought all three at the same time and never got around to the last one. Amusing, but not really worth the effort given my limited time. I thought the Lady Detective books were great!

Don't really follow all these threads. I recently read The Mango Season and thought it was great.

Will go to the library for them then - I don't have much spare cash so hate wasting it! I then keep thinking of all the other things I could have bought with it!
