'I don't know how she does it' is a great book, not going to win any literary prizes but so perceptive and funny.

mummytosteven · 15/07/2004 17:00

course you can soupdragon (can I call you soupy for short)?

OP posts:
nikcola · 15/07/2004 17:02

i told you it was good mts,
if someone wants 1 of my books it will give me a reason to go out xxxxxxx

boudicca · 15/07/2004 17:05

how about releasing them into the 'wild'-here

mummytosteven · 15/07/2004 17:07

i'd rather release them to oxfam - it's so random whether whoever finds them would have any interest, or whether they would just get taken away by cleaners and binned or oxfammed

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 15/07/2004 17:09

You can release them via Oxfam - some of the book crossing books are released in charity shops, you just label them first.

mummytosteven · 15/07/2004 17:10

interesting idea, soupdragon - spose I envisaged leaving them in a shop/cafe/phone box - train station never a good idea coz of security!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 15/07/2004 17:27

I think lots of people do that too but when I browsed the site a while back, there were people who left large quantities of books in charity shops.

nikcola · 19/07/2004 14:17

mummytosteven · 19/07/2004 22:45

Hi Nikcola - thanks for the offer but I've got tons too many books already, so don't want you to waste postage on something that might sit on my bookshelf for the next century! i did an amazon search on it out of curiousity - when i did it using the title "baby on board" I got about 5000 hits and it proceeded to list all the baby board books for me!!!

nikcola · 20/07/2004 17:30

thats ok. hey maybee i could buy some of your books of you instead of spending a bomb at amazon !!!

zebra · 20/07/2004 17:37

Does any1 want "It's not about the Bike" -- Lance Armstrong's story of recovery from testicular cancer, & talks a bit about the experience of IVF, too.

mummytosteven · 20/07/2004 18:26

read that as well and it is absolutely brilliant - he came from quite a tough background so it is really interesting how he got into cycling, as well as info about the Tour de France and how he coped after receiving a pretty dire prognosis.

OP posts:
mummytosteven · 20/07/2004 18:41

problem is that i am into police procedurals/thrillers mainly so not the same as a lot of people on here! i do have quite a few books on amazon, but no buyers as of yet

LunarSea · 20/07/2004 19:00
