About to return to the lovely Three Pines village in Quebec ( sadly all fictional) with the new crime novel by Louise Penny-are there other fans out there?

I'm a huge fan!! I've purchased and read them all up to and including book 11 (Nature Of The Beast).

However, sadly I've come to a bit of a temporary halt until the next book, A Great Reckoning, comes down in price. I find £9.99 a bit too expensive for a Kindle book.

I have to say that I'm so glad I discovered this series of books. I love Louise Penny's writing style - no need for foul language, unnecessary violence or explicit sex. It's very similar to the Hercule Poirot books.

I am going to wait a while longer to see if A Great Reckoning comes down to a more reasonable price. But given my love for this series, the settings and the characters, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to hold out before I give in to temptation!

I know what you mean about Kindle price-this is the first time I have "treated" myself in this way. I just love her style and would really like to live in Three Pines!! did you know there are websites even recipes associated with her novels?

Yes, Three Pines is indeed the idyllic place to live - even with the disproportionately high body count!

I haven't seen any recipes associated with the books, but have visited the authors website extensively, so maybe there are some links on there. Will have to check them out.

Don't you just love Jean Guy Beauvoir? Sometimes I wish I could wrap him up and just keep him safe from his demons......

And now you've gone and made me think maybe - just maybe - I might splash out £9.99 x 2 and get the latest two books as a treat to myself!

Anybody now watching this on Prime Video? Alfred Molina taking the lead.

A kind cousin send me the first five books in a box set and now I'm addicted. L P was interviewed on Irish radio yesterday - well worth listening (there are no spoilers, but her reaction to the TV adaptation is interesting).

I have just watched the first episode but have never read any of the books. I have looked at Overdrive/Libby and the series starts at Book 4 which seems a little odd.
