This book was heartily recommended to me by a friend this week so I've ordered it.

Anyone read it?

Australian writer BTW and she isn't anon anymore and is quite annoyed that her name got out Nikki Gemmel I think. I think she was trying to be anon to spare her family and friends - too late now ...

discordia · 01/06/2004 19:37

Ooer!

Heathcliffscathy · 01/06/2004 19:43

no.

I was lent it by a friend - she did not like it much. I tried to read it but found I did not get into it at all and only read about 2 chapters before giving it back to her.

hubble · 02/06/2004 19:10

I have just finnished reading it. It took a while to get into, but I did enjoy it in the end. Have lent it to my S-in-L now for her opinion. I recommend it.

I am half way through this book, but I just seemed to lose interest in it. I am going on a plane in two weeks, so I'll take it with me.....hopefully finish it

fingers crossed!!!

spacemonkey · 31/08/2004 22:48

I read it in about 3 days - pretty saucy in places

flutters flan......

JJ · 31/08/2004 23:32

What??

I thought it advocated infidelity, hence my reluctance. But now it's sounding really interesting.

MummyToSteven · 31/08/2004 23:34

JJ - wasn't the overall impression i got from reading it thru to the end

Marina · 01/09/2004 10:24

JJ, saucy bits a-plenty, but I found it a very interesting and quite sad read. Sort of Maggie Farrell with rude bits. I'd recommend it too, I think the impetus for Nikki Gemmell writing it was an intriguing one (the edition I got recently from Amazon included the story of how her cover was blown etc).

Lowryn · 01/09/2004 10:28

I was just about to post and recommend this book. I have just finished reading it, and was quite struck by it. I felt quite disturbed by the ending tho'

Heathcliffscathy · 09/11/2004 23:04
