Anita Shreve - spoilers present!!

I read The Last Time They Met before I read The Weight of Water, absolutley loved it, but in it, it tells you that Billy dies, so when I came to read Weight of Water I knew that she was going to die. But if I had read them the other way round, I would have learned in Weight of Water that the magdalen poems were writted about a girl who died when she was 16.

Why did she do this, whichever way round you read the books each contains a spoiler for the other?

Oh I didnt realise that, will have to read them all over again.I must not have paid attention enough. Very strange that she does that. Will read again, (if it doesnt upset me too much), & report back on this thread. Hopefully others will also have ideas to its oddness.

Have oyu read the Pilots wife? apparently mst pilots last words are shit, not mUmmy as the book said. Ssiter is a pilots wife.

Yes read that , also seen the film , good adaptation. Commercialy I think her bestb seller, but I prefer the more bizarre stories.
