I am on good reads and finding it very difficult to use but I need new reading fodder.

Authors I love:

Jasper Fforde
Neil Gaiman
C J Sansom
Philippa Gregory
Terry Pratchett
Ben Aaronovitch

So anything in a similar vein would be appreciated please oh wise ladies of Mumsnet!

Tom Holt. Definitely Tom Holt, I have all of Terry Pratchett's works and a lot of Neil Gaiman & Jasper Fforde, if you love those guys then Tom Holt is the way to go. The bonus as well as he has written a lot so you won't be looking for another author for a while. One of my favourites of his is 'Expecting Someone Taller'. Also Robert Rankin could be worth a go, although I never managed to get into his books in quite the same way.

Is Tom holt a series writer or are all his books stand alone?

Thanks btw

He's a little bit of both, he has some stand alone books but a few mini series as well. He also has some historical novels under Thomas Holt which I really enjoy, you might as well I think the first one is Olympiad.

Ilona Andrews. Without a doubt.

Humour. Fantasy. Magic. Weird shit.

And the feistiest heroine I've come across yet.

6 books to read as well as a set of side stories too.

Just excellent.
