I read it years ago but can't remember the title now and would like to read it again, or anything similar if anyone can suggest anything?

I am wondering if it's by John Sutherland - he writes that kind of thing. He's got one called 'Is Heathcliff a Murderer' and another called 'Curiosities of literature' which might be your book ?
