New member - Struggling to stick to my points!

I joined WW online yesterday. I tried Slimming World before but after stagnating and gaining weight again I decided to give WW a try. I need to lose about 2st.

I'm noticing WW is more restrictive than SW (which isgood as I tend to overeat and I need to learn to eat less!), and I'm worried I eat too many points too soon. I'm on 23 Points daily and today I've eaten:

  • Fat free vanilla yoghurt + 30g oatbran + berries
  • 1 clementine
  • cucumber/tomato/light feta salad / 1 mullerlight
  • 2 oatcakes + 1tbsp of peanut butter
  • 1 sweet (toffee)
Total so far: 18. I have 5 Points left for dinner.

My question is: how do you spread your points? Is it better to prioritise low points for breakfast + lunch and then save a bit for dinner?
How many points on average is your dinner?

I started it last week - I'm on day 6. I have been concentrating on the zero points list, but I've realised I'm eating so few carbs I'm almost doing Atkins! My dinner tonight was 4 points, as was a chicken and veg curry. The points came from the oil I used to cook it and a boiled sweet I had for pudding - woohoo! Everything else was 'free'. I have substituted rice / pasta for chickpeas / butter beans / kidney beans, as they are all free.

Although today I am really craving bread and butter. I'm not hungry, I just WANT IT!!!! I may just have to go to bed super early!

Thanks Who. I ended up using all my 23 points yesterday. My oatcakes + peanut butter "snack" is actually quite high in points (7 I think!) so today I'm just having fruit for snack. After lunch I'll have 13 points left for dinner... I fancy some pasta.

Well done for starting, yummy, and good luck!

I do try to keep my points low at the beginning of the day so I have plenty left for a filling dinner and perhaps an evening treat.

From your menu, I'm guessing that both of those yoghurts contain points. If you can manage to switch to fat free natural yoghurt, it's zero points. You can sweeten it with fresh fruit or a drop of concentrated sugar free squash.

For snacks, would pieces of roast chicken or boiled egg satisfy you, instead of carbs?

My go-to treat when I'm hungry mid afternoon but know I'm not going to have dinner until 8pm is banana pancakes: mashed banana with beaten eggs, cooked to a pancake and topped with ground cinnamon and a bit of ff yoghurt. Zero points and really filling.
