running with big legs...

I started running again when dd was 4 months old (now 6) and it is going really well, I can run for half an hour without problems and the route is getting longer and longer.
now that it is hot I have ditched my running leggings and borrowed dh*s shorts. but as I have big tighs they were rubbing together and are now really sore. ouch.
have now bought short tights but what can I do to speed up healing?
used nappy change cream over night, seems worse this morning. want to go for a run this afternoon.

let air get to it, nappy cream is a barrier.

When I was in the army and we used to go tabbing (marching and running in full kit) we were advised to rub vaseline on our inner thighs to stop chaffing (sp?)

will try to air as much as possible today. not easy as legs rub together when walking or standing. vaseline it is before the run today.

I use micropore tape - it lets the skin breathe, but stops the chafing. Also not sticky.

Well you can't run without them
I use bodyglide, but vaseline works just as well I believe.

yeah, I run to get them smaller again
have about a stone of baby weight still to loose.
running with short tights yesterday was soo much better.
I felt like I could run forever and the light breeze was so wonderful.

By all means run to get them smaller again, but don't knock them. My big strong legs can carry me for miles and miles. It's such a great feeling when you feel you can run for miles!
