best way to do this kind of diet without going all out is cut to out refined white carbs, ie: flour, sugar, rice etc, and no carbs after 2pm.
I did this a few years back, i had 1egg omlette for brekkie, with tomatoes and mushrooms, or spinach, or boiled eggs and bacon,- healthy lifestyle bacon, i would have 1 slice of wholemeal bread and thats it!!! no marge etc. and lots of water.
lunch i would have chicken salad with avacados, or cheese, and snack on prawns in the day, sometimes have a pitta, but a small one ( brown ) and for dinner i would often have fish, mackerel with chilli and garlic marinade and salad, or steak/chicken with roasted veg and a big garlic mushroom.
I would also have melon every day, was very refreshing after the strong tasting protien rich foods.
i lost 3st in 5 months!
when i fell pregnant i put on so much because i ate and ate processed carbs!
just started to get back into this routine.
best tips are:
have salad with most meals
use spices to make everything super tasty
drink water! lots of water!
have 1 treat a day in the form of fruit and a small amount of cream or 2 sqs of very good DARK! chocolate.
most important - no high carb food after 2pm ( lunch )

this is the best lifestyle i ever had, i felt so much better on it, and had lots of energy and my skin cleared up, felt happier etc. can't recommened it enough
