WW - do you HAVE to eat all the point while breast feeding?

Hello

I joined WW last night as my little girl is 8 weeks old. To my horror I am 2 stone over my pre preg weight, sure some of it due to the horrific amount of crap I have eaten since she was born in the mistaken belief that breast feeding helps you lose weight!

Anyway...I am on 31 points because I am feeding her, but do I have to eat that much? I am sitting here at 10:30pm, not hungry at all but with 4 points still to use.

I know there is a risk to milk supply if I go hungry, but I really am not and i do want to see a loss this week so that I feel motivated to keep going.

Any advice?

ta

I haven't done WW for ages, but I could save a certain amount of points each day for later in the week, for a treat or whatever. So I'd say you'll be fine, have a cake tomorrow to use the points up!

I agree with pp - save them for another day, you may well be glad of it! I went back to WW when my baby was just coming up to 8 weeks. He's 26 weeks today and I've lost 1st 10.5lbs so far. It really works (I did it after my last 2 babies as well)

Good luck!

dottyaboutstripes...well done you!!! that is excellent. I ate a huge baked potato with cheese and beans today and used the extra points that way. lovely.

really hope it worked because i have a wardrobe full of clothes that are nowhere near fitting me right now

cheers

Hiya,

You DO need to eat the extra points when breastfeeding. It doesn't slow down weight loss, just accounts for the extra cals you need when making breastmilk.

I am doing the same and have lost a stone in around 12 weeks.

It's great although I am still dreading Xmas!
