Eating more and losing weight

Last year I suddenly became quite ill and lost 2 stone in the matter of weeks.

When I got better, I wanted to keep the weight off so I started eating much less. Suprisingly my weight started to creep up quite quickly, despite eating less.

So I got fed up and started eating lots again ... the weight began to drop again.

Very confused, I went to doctors who weighed me and agreed I had lost tons of weight very quickly and he did a few tests to rule out anything serious. Nothing came up so he told me it was all to do with metabolism. If you starve yourself, your metabolism slows right down and you start to gain weight. Somehow, despite eating all the wrong foods, my metabolism goes so fast when I do eat that I lose weight, even if I over-eat.

So past few weeks I've been over eating and the weight is creeping back down slowly.

I'm wondering what would happen if I eat LOTS of the right food....? Will I lose weight even quicker or will I start to pile it on again because the calories/fat isn't there to keep the metabolism going?
