Because I (almost) blew it last weekend - the temptations were too much.

So this weekend, the plan is:

  • Plan my food and more importantly drink intake, down to how much wine (I'm on FF, but same would apply to WW and other diets).
  • Get loads of exercise to offset against the nosh
  • shop for low fat stuff I can have without too much guilt
  • Tell the family what I'm doing
  • No more than 200 calories for breakfast

It's going to be a challenge - bank holiday and we're going out for a birthday meal

Any other thoughts to avoid going off the rails? Good luck everyone else!

I'll join this!
I'm am so bad at sticking to my diet on the weekend.
I have a bbq to attend to tomorrow so my plan for the weekend is;

fruit and yoghurt for breakfast
salad and chicken + small bit of dessert (I know I'm going to want some anyway) at the bbq
I don't drink so that's sorted.
Rest of the weekend
Exercise for 1/2 an hr first thing.
Stick to 1200 cals.

What exercise are you going to do?
I'm going to either go for a run in the park if its nice or do a dvd ar home if raining.

Hi Wintersun. I'm not sure yet what exercise I'll do - I have plenty of choice, starting with taking the dog out in the morning - I might run rather than walk though.

I've just bought a Wii personal trainer which is fun, and I can do that with one or both of my dds - you can choose a group exercise class which is quite a testing workout.

I actually like exercising, it's just finding the time to fit it in that's the challenge - I work ft in a job where I'm on my derriere all day - by the time I come home and sort things out, the day is over.

I'm just settling down with a glass of chilled wine, but I measured the amount - according to FF 100ml of dry white is only 66 calories, so I can even afford another glass.

How are you doing Wintersun? Have you had your half an hour of exercise?

I was awake early so have had a good start this morning - did half an hour with the Wii trainer before anyone else was up - although I suspect dh could hear me bouncing around downstairs.

I had 250mls of wine last night, but kept it within my allowance - I think one trick to cope at weekends is to plan ahead like you're doing with fruit and yogurt for breakfast etc.

Hopefully the bbq shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you as grilled chicken is very healthy. If you stick to salads without high-fat dressings you should be ok.

Baked potatoes (if there are any) may be better than bread as they'll fill you up more.

And if you've exercised you'll have some spare calories for a small pudding. Enjoy it and let me know how you got on.

Hi there.
Sounds like you're doing fine

The bbq was really good. I had a drumstick and some chicken on skewers and stuck to salad,a bit of couscous etc and just had sparkling water.
There was banoffee pie and I did have a some of that. It was absolutely delicious

Today, I've been ok with food. I didn't get much proper exercise in but have been in the garden with the kids playing football and catch with them. I think that counts!

I am definitely going for a run/do a dvd tomorrow.

How did you get on today?
