There must be someone else like me who needs a boot camp?
I need rules and a proper telling off if I say 'oh dear,my hand slipped and I accidently ate 6 biscuits' not a 'there, there, you had a bad day.Just start afresh tomorrow'

My 1st goal is to lose 10lbs by the end of May by counting calories and exercising 4 times a week.

Anyone want to join?

Not the most impressive start for me. Did really well yesterday until kid's teatime when I started hoovering up DC's leftovers because I was hungry before then eating with DH in the evening. As for today, had lunch at a friend's and there was just far too much cake around for my fragile willpower. I did play squash this evening but it won't have been enough to counterbalance today's food disaster.

I don't think the Paul McKenna thing is going to work for me - too loose, not enough structure although there are other people on MN who have done really well on it.

I'm going to have to go the FF route or WW points so at least if I deviate earlier in the day, I can account for it and adjust my eating later rather than thinking, 'oh well, may as well be really bad as I've botched today' which is what often happens. Will decide which by tomorrow morning and take action accordingly.

Feel free to give me a kick up the backside for my procrastination ...

I'm well chuffed this morning! had gone 30 cals over my allowence yesterday which I'm really pleased with

I went to my friends house last night and usually I have my tea then polish off a shed load of nibbles and we also have pizza there as well, but, but, last night I resisted the nibbles and had 2 cups of tea!

My reward = 2 lbs off this week!

furball fantastic - our first loser

lola virtual kick up the backside coming your way Feel free to return im my direction in the future.

That food focus thingy is a bit addictive. I love logging and playing with it.

Ok (deep breath) here are my stats:

5ft 4 and 12st 3lb

I've upped the weight loss to 2lb a week and should reach my target at the beginning of Sept. So far i am coming in under my calorie allowance 'cos i am basically eating like a rabbit.

Have a great day today

Lola - I think keeping a food diary really helps. I've always done well when I've counted cals or points. It makes you feel in control and you can eat whatever you want as long as you don't go over your allowance so the odd bit of cake here and there is fine.
Try ff to start off with as its free. You can even record your exercise and it will give you some extra cals for it.

You sound like you're doing really well Furball 2lbs is def achievable in 2 weeks.

I weighed myself this morning and am 10 stones and lllbs. I am aiming to be rid of the 11lbs by the end of May so I can look nice in t shirts and jeans for the warmer weather At the moment, I don't appear to have a waist

yep - lost 2 lbs

and yes am on FF

Furball · 22/04/2009 08:21

sorry cal allowence = 1308 for 1 1/2 lbs a week

I run 4k 3 x a week and am not going to log that so won't get extra cals

LolaLadybird · 23/04/2009 12:31

Well done on the 2lbs Furball, you must be v chuffed.

I'm feeling a lot more +ve. I've decided to go with the WW points counting which I've done twice before and has always been v effective (I've just never stuck with it for long enough). I'm on Day 2 and so far it's going well. Yesterday I turned down cookie/cake on 2 different occasions and also had a v healthy lunch and tea. I was pretty hungry by 9pm last night but had a healthy snack rather than my usual choc. Also, I'm now obviously writing everything down to record points so feeling much more in control.

Anyway, early days but feeling good about it ....

My stats btw - 14st 2 and 5'8 . The heaviest I have ever been. I'm often told I carry my weight well and don't look that heavy (I'm a size 16) but even so, things really need to change.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Morning all,

How's it going ? I'm finding in the evenings that i am incredibly hungry, but am managing to stay on the straight and narrow !

I find that i have to be really strict and not have any treats - or i won't stop

I'm on 1347 calories for 2lbs a week. I shall see tomorrow

Good luck to you all
