Help needed, please. The clock going forward has inspired me! Really want to become the sort of person who loves to go for a 30-minute run! Am fed up with swimming and running would fit into my life easily (ie half an hour when kids are in bed). So, if anyone couold enlighten me as to how I start off - how long/how often etc. I'd be v grateful! Thanks!

I'm the same tigi - my 'running brekkie' is two Weetabix with a banana on top. I don't often run in the evening as my legs just don't seem to carry me as far.

thanks everyone - have printed off the training plan, Potty and will have a look at the bras now. Ooh, excited now!

Tigi - I have never been able to find a bra from M & S that fits me properly, so I can't comment on that, sorry! The Enell bra comes in about 5 different sizes, each of which fits several different conventional bra back and cup sizes. With the Panache bra, I just used the size from my most comfortable bra, although I think the next back size down would have been better support-wise.

Dinny - once you get to about week 3 of the beginners programme you'll find that you don't need to walk for as long as it says. Once you're running for say 7 or 8 mins you'll only need about half that time to recover before you feel able to set off again.

Good luck with it. The runners thread is here if you'd like to say hello

Dinny - had my application form for the Flora Light Womens Challenge today. The training plan actually looks a bit better than the Race for Life one. Have a look Flora Light Challenge

Also Real Runner have a womens section too with loads of info for beginners.
