Anyone else weighing themselves daily?

Does anyone else here weigh themselves first thing every morning? I have been doing this since June and I find it has just become a habit now. But it’s interesting how much weight fluctuates throughout the week. My highest weight this week was 51.6kg and my lowest was 50.9kg.This morning I am 51.3kg.

Yes I do because those weight fluctuations can occur on our weigh days and be deeply discouraging. I weigh every morning and look at my progress on my Renpho app.

Yeah I do. And yes the fluctuations are interesting. I find it works well for me.

I do and record on the Happy Scale app to show trends, etc. I find it is much more accurate than weekly weighing as you’ve no way of knowing if your chosen ‘weigh day’ just happens to be the highest or lowest day of your week.

Yes, I do, and it’s a weekly cycle of weight loss (hooray)then gain (boo).

Yes. I know the theory that once a week makes more sense and the day to day fluctuations are meaningless, but when I eat right my weight does drop overnight and when I don't it does increase, so it keeps me on track.

I definitely find weigh myself daily helped me to understand how different foods can affect my weight. I think it makes less of an issue of it to be honest. Like those people said if I had chosen the day that I was 51.6 to be my day on the previous week I had been 50.9. I would see myself as gaining. And I wouldn’t have a full understanding behind it.

I find seeing the day to day fluctuations are very enlightening.

I only drink wine and east snacks at the weekends, and hey presto, my weight goes up a couple of pounds at weekends. Likewise for takeaways or meals out. This pattern wouldn't be evident at all with weekly weighing.

Besides, any random fluctuations are shown to be random and and short-term if you are weighing daily. If you are only weighing weekly then the fluctuations could occur on your weekly weigh-in day, making you think you'd lost or gained when really you hadn't.

No.

What does it really matter if your clothes still fit?

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 10:53

A few times a week, yep.

Ah sorry, it just came up on my general feed. I thought it seemed rather hyper-focused!

I do. I like to see the fluctuations. I'm at Slimming World and WI on an evening, so it's really influenced by what I eat and drink that day. So by looking at the WI in the morning I'm less likely to be annoyed by the scales at group in the evening as I can see (usually) the general trend is down.

I do. I am trying to lose weight (I have a thread on here, keeping my weightless accountable) and it definitely helps me stay on track. The general trend is useful as it helps me see if i need to change things. Currently looking at what I might need to change!
