Portion plate sense check

I'm on day 3 of using a portion plate for dinner. Days one and two were simple - meat, carb, veg, easy to divi up.

Currently have a chilli simmering on the hob.

Have done my usual recipe with the addition of a large courgette and two peppers. So it's more veg than beef at this point.

Can't exactly divi this up!

I'm thinking skip the rice (as the allowed portion is pitiful, as I discovered yesterday!) and do half of the plate with the chilli, and half with fresh veg (stringless beans this eve).

Does that sound reasonable or am I likely to overdo it on the cals?

(I'm avoiding calorie counting as it ends up consuming my every thought which is counter productive - hence the plate!).
