Sugar / chocolate cravings

Give me your tips to stop the sugar / chocolate cravings. I was doing well with losing a few pounds but I just can’t stop eating chocolate / sugary snacks and it’s causing a real stumbling block. What are your tips to stop these cravings?

I honestly Don't know. I'm a chocolate fiend. I did go cold turkey once and tha did help for a while.

I find cold turkey the only way too, but then I slip back into bad habits at Christmas Easter etc and have to start over! It usually takes a couple of weeks of cravings and finding it really, really hard, but then I suddenly realise I'm just not fancying it any more.

I'm about to try again as I've slipped back into old habits since Christmas, and after losing a stone in weight last year purely by cutting out chocolate and sweets, I've put half a stone back on again.

If you eat more protein and less carbs with plenty of fibre your appetite will feel more stable. Im currently getting back to low carb after Christmas and Easter. Lots of herbal teas too.

Yes I have gone cold turkey in the past. It also seems easier when I going to the gym a lot. Unfortunately we still have lots of chocolate in the house from Easter which is just too tempting!
