Weird side effect on wegovy, anyone else?!

I've done 4 doses of wegovy at the starting amount. From about 2 days after the first jab until now I've had a really sore left side of my face! It feels like I've been burned and is very sensitive. Literally it hurts if my hair touches my cheek. I can't sleep on that side.

Has anyone else found this?

I'm losing 2lb a week so I can suck it up but it's bloody sore!

Is it at the top of your cheeks around or above your cheekbone in your temple area? If your over 50 and this is accompanied by acting jaw you should consider temporal arteritis.

trigeminal neuralgia?

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 12/03/2026 23:01

It's constantly sore but not excruciating so not sure if it is neuralgia either.

Allodynia, I get it on my fingers, hand and arm. It's a known and commonly reported side effect on mj and wegovy

gallivantsaregood · 13/03/2026 05:26

It sounds like allodyna.

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 13/03/2026 06:45

Does it go away if you don't stop taking the jab? Or do I have to stop?

Had it the first 2 months on MJ, on the side of my leg, felt like I had sun burn then it went away. On W now and haven't had it since.

Make sure you report any side effects via the yellow card scheme. They don't need to be confirmed by a medic, just the data is useful to clinicians and researchers.
