Stopping Mounjaro

Hi all,

Ive been taking Mounjaro for just over a year - have in total lost nearly 2.5 stone but its come off very much slow and steady - I have noticed appetite suppression but the weight just doesn’t fall off me like it seems to everyone else!

in order to not regain the wait, im looking for ideas on how to spent the money I used to spent on MJ. I’ve started running again so going to treat myself to some new trainers but have been thinking about a gym membership? PT? Bootcamps?

has anybody had experience at keeping the weight off using exercise? And obviously trying not to overeat! I’m still an overweight BMI but happy at this size, would be happy to keep losing slowly another stone or so though!

thanks!

Ohh watching with interest as I’m in a similar position. I’m planning on upping exercise in the hope that replaces the Mounjaro benefits, though it’s possible my appetite just increases too

Have you spent any of the money yet? I was thinking about a monthly facial!

Buy some weights - strength training will build muscle which boosts metabolism and it protects against osteoporosis in future by increasing bone density.

Lifting heavy is the best thing we can do for our future health

I’m watching with interest too but have no idea really .

been on about a year and have lost 96 lb ( about 7 stone) I am now loosing very slowly, if I’m lucky 1lb a week. Which while I know is still good , £300 a month for 4lb loss is 😬

im scared to death to come off it incase I regain, but well aware I could pay off my mortgage in 5 years if I re directed the money!

I still have some to loose ( trying not to set a target as it’s always been unhelpful in the past, but definitely another 3st)

someone has mentioned some maintenance type pills that are being developed- I’m hoping in the next year theses become available

I suppose it depends on your general diet and situation. I think I would still revert to old ways - I do sometimes wonder if really I have an eating disorder rather than just really gready

Thanks for your replies - nice to know I’m not the only one worried about it!!

@Flyingten i actually went for a massage at the weekend which cost a fraction of MJ and would be an amazing monthly treat! I’d like to reward myself when losing/maintaining in a way that doesn’t involve food so that could work!

@Oaksandapples seriously interested in weight training - I’ve been in touch with a PT who’s happy to a month without commitment so hoping I can give it a try and see if it suits before investing! Even at £120 monthly it’ll be cheaper than MJ even with a massage thrown in!

good luck to the rest of you! I’ll try and remember to update. This week will be my first week without - was due to inject on Sunday and so far feel fine and still not hungry but well aware it’s probably still in my system!
