Quick loss for big birthday!

The big 40 at the end of the month. I was down 5kg pre Christmas and looking to loose even 3kg this month, 5kg would be ideal but not sure if achievable. I’m fairly active, 3 classes a week and like to get the steps in. I need to focus on nutrition. Any simple ideas food wise for a quick shed?

How long did it take to drop 5kg?

TheActualQueen · 01/02/2026 15:18

Intermittent fasting. Focus on protein's and fibre. Loads of water. Weights.
Calculate your TDEE and eat 500cals less every day. No alcohol.

@Dreamlava 5 weeks but was drinking alcohol and occasional treat / McDonalds 😟

So if you’re after losing 3kg
Just do what you do in 5 weeks to reach 5kg loss!

THIS WORKS!!!!! Protein x Fibre x Water!! Even before exercise

No carbs would likely be the fastest way, combined with intermittent fasting

IndigoBluey · 01/02/2026 17:39

Great, hadn’t heard of TDEE so have calculated and my cutting macros is 1300 cals, 130g protein, 60g each fat and carbs so will give this a go. Will drop the lunchtime norms of toastie / sandwhich and try doing roast chicken with roast veg / salad which worked for my last loss. I love cooking and eat anything but currently uninspired in the evenings for dinner ideas. Will browse the latest Waitrose mag and also have the Fast800 which is usually a helpful book
