Healthy snack ideas

What healthy snacks do you have? I think if I could portion some out and have 1 or 2 a day, it might stop me reaching for the biscuits. I really struggle with portion control so with things like carrot sticks and houmous, I could easily eat the whole pot. I’ve stopped buying nuts because I can’t eat handfuls of them.

My go to, grab from the fridge when my stomach is feeling like my throat has been cut - chicken filets - just the small goujon size ones , or baby bels

I fill up on protein.

Im also loving cottage cheese - the cheap one from lidl is pure lush

Getting my head around that a snack doest equate a biscuit or packet of crisps , but something that will fill me has been a game changer

If I take biscuits or crisps etc, that's it - Im eating carp the rest of the day. Take some protein , it satisfies and Im grand - back to eating healthy balanced meals

I never thought of having soup as a snack but it often have it in the freezer. I could freeze some smaller portions for snacks.
Eggs is a good idea.
I’m the same as you @suki1964, once I start on the biscuits, it’s game over.

I like a babybel, or a pepperami. A whole carrot is good for chomping on, and I find it’s useful to gauge if I’m actually hungry, rather than craving a sugar/carb hit. If I don’t want a carrot, am I really hungry?

I enjoy drinking black coffee/herbal tea as well.

Fruit - if I need filling up a banana but if I’m after something sweet usually an apple or satsuma

I sometimes find a couple of grapes hits the sweet craving and it turns out I wasn’t actually hungry, bit like the PP said about carrots (great idea, I often don’t actually fancy a carrot so can’t be hungry!).
