Hi I’m 55 had an awful life and yo-yo dieted chronically now I’m stuck and weight isn’t going on 1300 calories and om active..

Last time I lost 7 stone took about 3 years on 1300 calories and tons exercise running HIIT Zumba walking weights
sadly I had DCIS breast cancer same time my brother was found dead 2020.
i was a size 24 down to a size 8 and surgery to remove breast cancer cells was agony and grief I regained 3/4 of what I lost by 2022.

since then it’s a battle I’ve tried most things I’m so tired as I can’t eat much or I gain weight as metabolic adaptation.
I tried mounjaro I had an allergic reaction couldn’t swallow pain in my top body and swollen lymph node I’m not allowed any jabs now.
I’ve fibromyalgia mild and chronic IBs

im looking for a plan to lose weight 50lbs 🙏🙏
was looking at WW but that worries me as bankruptcy even though they say they’re okay
SW doesn’t work for me tried
calorie counting isn’t working as I’m eating low if I eat more calories gain :( I’m strict weigh measure track everything watch macros

Vshred seemed okay but was a con you have to buy lots parts to it and it’s American so basically not as UK friendly as I need as food

Feel really sad this weight won’t go menopause isnt helping

thanks x

If it helps, WW is really just calorie counting but instead of calories, they group them differently and call them points. I am on Mounjaro now but I still follow WW to help me keep on track. As a company they are apparently in financial difficulty but even if they went bust, it would be easy to switch from WW to one of the other calorie counting apps like Nutracheck or My Fitness Pal.

I know how awful it is to feel really trapped by your weight and not be able to find something sustainable - it’s a very tough road. If weight loss injections aren’t right for you you might want to give WW a try. I found it relatively easy to follow and was eating 1200 cals a day without feeling too famished. I always struggled to stay on it at weekends though so that’s where MJ helps me.

Best wishes with finding the right thing for you!

WW aren’t bankrupt. The US company filed a specific bankruptcy deal, Chapter 11, which allows them to restructure debt and crucially, carry on trading. WW have just this week signed a deal with the makers of Wegovy to distribute it in the US which will no doubt make them a huge amount of money. And all of that is regarding the US company, not the UK offshoot. So if you like the idea of the WW plan then there’s very little risk in starting it, imo.
