How big do I look?

Yoyoyoyoyopo · 30/05/2025 21:53

I‘ve recently lost a lot of weight. I‘m 5‘6“.

How much would you guess I weigh?

I think I look bigger than I am. Unflattering dress, maybe.

I’d say about 10 stone

Miyagi99 · 30/05/2025 22:23

About a 12, well done on losing weight, you look fantastic!

WhatWasPromised · 30/05/2025 22:26

11 stone, size 12?

You look great, well done on your weight loss!

WakingUpTheNeighbours · 30/05/2025 22:27

A photo of you standing up where we can actually see your body properly would help. 😂

You’ve got a good figure and I’m guessing this is to do with how you look thin to yourself in the mirror but then sit down and feel not as slim - I get this too. So do 95% of people because you need like 2% body fat to look skinny when sitting down. I feel you’d suit a v neck better but you look totally good. it’s ok be proud of your hard work to lose weight and enjoy your body.

Doggymummar · 30/05/2025 22:36

165lb

SummertimeFeelingFine · 30/05/2025 22:36

Yes that's a great point! Well done on losing the weight and I hope you feel good and give yourself credit for what you've achieved.

Violetparis · 30/05/2025 22:40

No idea as can't see your body properly or your legs.

TheChosenTwo · 30/05/2025 22:44

Agree with @Violetparis - terrible angle for guessing but wear nicer clothes and you’ll already feel more positive.

TheChosenTwo · 30/05/2025 22:45

Sorry, the nicer clothes came out wrong, I meant wear clothes that you feel confident in!
I disagree with this ‘need’ people feel to wear clothes that flatter them because what they tend to mean is that they ‘make them look thin’ or ‘disguise the fat bits’. I wear clothes that I love because I love them and usually feel great!

balcoly · 30/05/2025 22:47

photos make people look bigger

balcoly · 30/05/2025 22:49

Size 12 maybe a 10

SoftPillow · 30/05/2025 22:50

Size 10/12, perhaps 65-68kg

Your arms are lean and I think it’s an unflattering pose

Cheesystick · 30/05/2025 22:54

12 and a half stone. Same height as me. You look a little heavier but not a lot. Basing it on my weight!

Frostiesflakes · 30/05/2025 23:14

11 stone 6 😂
large size 12 possibly a very small 14
But it’s not a flattering pic or outfit either
it makes your thighs look huge sitting like that

Im 5ft 6 and hover around 8.11 - 8 -13 and look tiny in pics
Im always shocked when i see a picture as I used to be a lot bigger

Yoyoyoyoyopo · 31/05/2025 07:41

Think I need to burn the dress and improve my posture! I’m 62kg.

OP posts:
balcoly · 31/05/2025 08:02

It's how you are sitting & most people are useless at guessing weight because they base it of how much they weigh when height & proportions matter and also what they perceive they look like.

You had a lot of guesses around 10 stone or saying you are a size 10-12 so people weren’t far out. I’m the same height and weight 55kg, generally wear a 10 and can find plenty of pics where I feel I look large, often because I have wide shoulders and rib cage that I can’t change.

surely if you have lost a lot of weight you should see the benefit and feel loads better - maybe your expectations are unrealistic or too influenced by SM posts (and filters!)?

Endiof · 31/05/2025 09:30

A lot of it is posture, most on social media seem to stand there and stick a leg out, usually desperately trying to make their legs look longer

The dress is fine.

most people guessed fairly accurately.

you look 'normal' in the photo. Not model thin not big.

if you want to look slim/thin/waify you're going to need to keep going with the weight loss. But personally I think you look 'normal' as you are and personally I'd be happy with that.

Endiof · 31/05/2025 09:48

You look very normal size and probably could wear most things, I wouldn't bother trying to lose more weight as it will be hard to keep off

Hallywally · 31/05/2025 13:17

You don’t look at all big OP. You look medium/slim. As others have said, it’s an unflattering pose - even the very slim look bigger sat down with their legs crossed.

productofhertime · 31/05/2025 13:18

you look like me, a size 14

onthewineagain · 31/05/2025 13:23

All the replies seem quite similar and along the lines of what I was thinking. I also think you look good.

im the same height, I’m 12 stone, size 14 and trying to lose weight.

you look better than me so I was going to say around 11 stone, size 12.

Sorry, further to my comment above, I’ve just converted 62 kg to stone, so you’ve 9.5 stone?

well you’ve said yourself that’s an unflattering angle and dress, although I don’t think you look bad at all.

9.5 stone stone is very slim for your height so you’re done really well.

you look great Smile
