Holiday weight gain

I‘ve worked really hard to lose a stone the past few months. I‘ve been counting calories meticulously, weighing food and doing 16:8.

I‘ve just come back from a 10 day holiday. For the first few days I was full of motivation to stay on track. Then unfortunately I lost it. I did continue fasting, but drank a lot of alcohol and ate a lot of delicious food, including multiple restaurant meals. I did my best to calorie count but had to guesstimate a lot. I ate approx 2000-2500 calories a day.

This morning I weigh 5lbs more than the day I left for my holiday!!

I‘m so annoyed with myself. Has anyone got any advice to help me get back on track?

It will drop naturally once you are back in your normal routine

I usually put on a stone in a week!

if you go back to what you were doing in pre holiday you will lose it pretty quick.

holidays are for enjoying … I’m glad you had fun x

If you’ve just got back, I’m sure some will br extra food weight from recent big meals that will go quickly. Especially if you flew - as it tends to make you slightly constipated. If you go back to your normal good habits I suspect most of the extra will be gone again in a week - you can do it!

Thanks, that is reassuring! Yes we flew. I‘ve also just realised that my period is due in about 5 days so that won’t help!!

I’m actually looking forward to getting back to normal. I‘m surprised at how horrible this over indulgence has left me feeling!

It could be water weight with the extra salt and alcohol.
