Perimenopause weight loss

I've always put on weight quite quickly but also managed to lose quite quickly too.

But now I'm in perimenopause and my weight is stuck at best, slightly increasing at worse - my bmi used to hover at around 25, and now it's 26.

I'm trying to make some changes. Please can you tell me if the following will do the job:

Exercise: 20 mins walk per day (always done this) and 20 mins toning/cardio (new)

Diet: massively up the protein from about 30g per day to 80g. Avoid bread in favour of pulses. Only healthy snacks (fruit, nuts) and no evening snacking. Alcohol twice per week max.

I've been doing a halfhearted version of this for a couple of months and have seen no change in weight, though am feeling a bit fitter! If I stick to this diet properly will it be enough to lose at least half a stone (ideally 1 stone) or do I need to make more changes?

Thanks all!

I’ve had to drastically change things.
Calorie deficit
18k steps a day
increase water intake
lift weights three times a week

I'm 50. I aim to walk over 10,000 steps a day and eat in an 8 hour window each day. I cut out the snacking on crisps, biscuits etc. I eat carbs but am careful not to eat them excessively.

Watching with interest.

This does all sound quite dramatic 🤯

I did IF last year with some success (lost half a stone) but I have gastritis from time to time and it does not like an empty stomach so I'm reluctant to IF again in case it causes a flare-up.
