I’ve lost 37 pounds

It’s taken exactly 20 weeks so not exactly speedy weight loss but at least it’s gone. I feel so much better physically. When I used to walk the dogs I just felt gross and cumbersome. Have a stone and half to go!

Proud but scared that there is still so much to come off

Well done OP! Have you followed any particular regime or just plain and simple “eat less, move more”? Glad you are feeling so much better.

37 pounds in 20 weeks is bang on for sustainable weight loss, between 1 and 2 pounds per week. You stand a great chance of maintaining that loss and achieving your final goal weight. I think you should definitely be proud.

It’s annoying to hear but yes it’s really as boring and simple as eat less, move (slightly) more.

I have made a real effort to cook beautiful meals that are on the low side for calories but are just as tasty as the indulgent food I ate before. Homemade sauces, beautiful marinades, barbecuing just for the hell of it etc.

I have done my best to eat as minimal carbs as possible. Eg I will make a lovely chicken and prawn stir fry but not eat the noodles myself but a mountain of stir veg. But if I fancy a slice of buttery toast I will allow myself to eat it.

Halo ice cream is also an okay substitute for when I feel bingey.

Found a new love for fruit - kiwis, berries, pineapples.

And pickled veg is great for when I need something tangy and savoury.

This is amazing - well done!! I started this journey just yesterday- I'm hoping I can do the same as you.

You’ll get there. I must have said “I will start on Monday” for a solid year.
