Weight loss while breastfeeding

Despite having no intentions of extended breastfeeding, I find myself still feeding my almost 3 year old.

I am also the heaviest I've ever been at 12 stone (5'6) and it seems to keep creeping up. I am now firmly a size 16 (used to be a 12) and I'm feeling really unhappy and unhealthy and exhausted all the time. Huge bust and apple shape and none of my clothes fit.

I have had a couple of attempts at losing weight over the last year or two but only ever seem to manage a couple of lbs (I've mostly tried intermittent fasting which has worked will in the past) before it comes back on, and more! I had assumed breastfeeding would actually be beneficial to weight loss but I wonder if anyone else has any experience of this? It feels like my body is just clinging to the fat for dear life 😅

Really do need to get it sorted - have a gym membership but rarely find time to go as I'm a SAHM with toddler and have no support.

Anyone got any advice?

Me!

Fed ds until he was 2, weaned him at Christmas and I've already lost a stone. Prior to that I found it nearly impossible to lose weight and I was constantly ravenous.

have you had your thyroid checked?

Oh that gives me some hope that if I ever manage to stop breastfeeding I might have a bit more success! Thanks. I feel the hunger, and fussy toddler is constantly leaving food which I can't face putting in the bin. I have become the bin. 😅
