Unable to shift 5kg

Hi,

im currently 63kg and 5ft4. I know my most comfortable weight is around 58kg (this is what I weighed in my 20s and the early part of my pregnancies when I had nausea and couldn’t eat much) but I can’t seem to shift the weight. I have been doing 16:8 for 2-3 months now so I start my day at 11am with a chicken salad or 2 eggs with avocado ie low carb as this stops me snacking and keeps me full until dinner which is at 6pm. Will have fruit for snacks and occasionally nuts. A square of dark chocolate and a large glass of coconut water. On the weekend I will treat myself to a dessert. My evening meals are generally quite carby so rice & curry, pasta etc. I don’t know if my portion sizes for dinner are too big or if I need to go low carb for dinner as well? Alternative is to become more physically active which I am not currently but I always hear that weight loss is more about diet than exercise. I can’t really see how else I can make progress but if anyone has suggestions would love to hear. Thanks ☺️

It will be down to the amount of calories so you will likely need to reduce portion sizes. A medium avocado for example is around 240 calories. It’s still possible to eat too many calories, even if food is healthy.
You are right that it’s diet, you can lose weight without exercising at all, I managed 4+ stone just by reducing calories, although I do now exercise.
Do you weigh and portion your rice and pasta?
