Help me stop being so greedy

I would literally eat all day every day, given the chance. I brought a packet of 12 fun size twix bars at the weekend. I ate the whole lot in 2 days.
I can't just have a little of something,I then go on to do the whole lot.
How can I stop myself eating so much and being so greedy? All I think about is food. I'm putting on so much weight, I hate how I look atm.
Today is day 1 if no carbs/sugar/junk and significantly cutting down booze. I've got 4 weeks until I go on holiday. If I lost even half a stone I before going away, then I would be happy with that.

I think you're very restrained - 12 fun size wouldn't last me 2 hours, never mind 2 days...
I stopped buying them, all of them. Then I stopped buying sweets (chewy, shaped, sugar, in pretty colours. I could eat 3 large share bags a day). If they're not there, I wouldn't justify a car journey to the shop for more and I was too idle to walk.

Your 'Day 1' sounds tough, but I wish you luck.
I have no idea of your age (for me, it's relevant), but I started intermittent fasting about 3 months ago (fast 18 hours, eat within a 6 hour window), then two months later started excluding added sugar too. I am 51, peri meno, and down a stone. I haven't found it hard to stick to and I make 'treats' using dates for sweetness. I have tried not buying the stuff that makes me fat, I have tried every weight loss journey in the (very many) book(s) and I have had success losing it, but not finding a new way forward that feels easy to stick at previously.

I don't think you're greedy at all. I think you like the taste of the stuff 'they' make purposely for us to overeat. It's manufactured to trick your brain and your hormones and as a person with a brain and hormones, you got tricked. I hope I'm not coming across as sanctimonious, I have a long way to go still and remain in the obese category (just).

Also, please talk to yourself the way you would talk to your dearest friend. You would never tell her she was 'greedy', so don't say it to yourself.

By overly restricting and demonising carbs + sugar you are only going to make things worse. It is not a healthy or realistic way to diet and it will just end in big cravings + a bingeing session. Crash diets do not work in the long term and that is fact

Everything in moderation - try to fill up on loads of vegetables + protein and allow yourself the occasional treat. Don’t keep sweets, biscuits etc in the house so that the temptation isn’t there. What is your diet like in general?
