Anyone else uncomfortable with slimpod?

I've just signed up for the 10 day trial & I've had to turn the first pod off before it finished because it was really not sitting right with me.

I thought it was going to be about making healthier choices with food and overcoming cravings, but actual food was barely mentioned. It just fixated on body image & SO SO much, like 90%. Is it just the first one? Are any of the later pods any better?

I do want to lose weight, and yes, partly to look slimmer, mostly for health, but I feel like listening to this every night is more likely to give me an eating disorder rather than a healthy relationship with food!

Have you also watched the coaching videos? They are very important and plenty in them about healthy relationships with food.

I watched the first one where she's talking about the pods & the guy reading them, isn't that the 'hypnosis' part or whatever with is the main selling point of slimpod?

I'll watch a few more tomorrow but I'm not convinced I'll keep it after the trial is up.

It's not hypnosis.

No, the pods are not the main point. The coaching videos, the emails and the daily wins are all equally as important.

You need to put aside some time to watch the coaching videos, and read the information provided.

Do you not use the pods then? I was wondering if any of the later ones are less focused on body image. They certainly advertise like the pods are the main focus:

"Slimpod doesn’t tell you what to eat or what not to eat but guides your unconscious mind to help it create its own solutions. And it does it in a 9-minute recording you listen to each day until its job is done, which means it fits any busy lifestyle"

I just found it annoying and the pods wouldn't always play. Oh and the incessant emails too.

MrsMonzo · 22/05/2024 22:48

I didn't mind the pods, they sent me to sleep and stopped my urge to binge. Didn't lose any weight though, I gained 3lbs over the 3 months.

And the Facebook group is a bit crackers, any even slightly negative post and you get people jumping on you asking why you haven't emailed customer services for help before the admin come and turn the comments off because negative thinking is not allowed. What are the customer support team meant to suggest if you've been listening every day, writing your wins, watching the coaching videos and following all the advice 😑 it's a bit cult like, to be honest

I think it's Neurolinguistic Programming

Just coming to the end of the free trial. You can get a refund after the first month so am going to give it a go.

Just wanted to say hi. I’m new on this.

fingerbobz · 13/02/2025 21:15

The facebook group annoyed me
So much

There were too many mixed messages . Chats about diets and what to eat...what not
To eat. Reminded me of a diet club chat

The whole thing confused me.

SatinHeart · 13/02/2025 21:35

I did it for 3 months. Used to fall asleep during the pods so no idea what they said to be honest. Agree the fb group was full of people totally contradicting the 'no dieting' message of slimpod.
I didn't lose any weight but I was rubbish at writing wins and watching the videos so I wasn't exactly doing it properly.
