Starting Mounjaro on Monday

Absolutely gutted the main Mounjaro thread isn't accepting new posts!

I'm planning on doing my first injection very early Monday (probably around 5.30am) as I'll be working from home that day.

Any tips for nausea? Any good tablets? I have electrolytes already as I take them all summer due to menopausal sweats!

Also I'll be away in a month so won't be able to inject until late on a Tuesday, will that be okay?

I'm really hoping this shuts off the food noise, I think about it from the moment I wake. Also hoping it shuts off alcohol noise as that's a problem too, I've read it can really help with that so fingers crossed!

Any advice very welcome!

I've just done my second jab this evening. My advice so far would be eat as healthy as you can, drink plenty and add electrolytes to one of your drinks. Eat smaller portions and aim for at least 100g of protein a day. The side effects I have had are being very tired about 36 hours after the first jab, cold hands feet and nose, a mild headache, and an episode of stomach cramps that passed after several hours. I have found a wealth of knowledge and tips on tik tok from others users that have been on it for a while now. The jab itself is completely painless, I have done it in my stomach both times so far.

Hi OP Smile I'm also starting next week, likely Tuesday. I successfully dropped 3 stones last year on ozempic and have maintained since July. I had a very positive experience with the drug and I stopped due to the hassle of sourcing stock. No advice to give on Mounjaro yet but thought I would join your thread for support! Best of luck Smile

I am also starting Monday, also menopausal, also a bit nervous, so pleased to see this thread as we can be mounjaro buddies (but the main thread #4 is accepting posts?)

Yes, the main Mounjaro thread is now number 4 and all welcome there!

I'm on week 4 (day 26) so I'm happy to answer any questions. I'm a stone down (as of this morning) but feel I haven't tried very hard. My appetite is massively reduced but when I'm eating I'm going for crisps/ Easter eggs etc. I'm starting with more water and more veg from tomorrow. Good luck ladies.

VoyOySaveloy assuming you ordered from Voy then this is a brilliant username!!!

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong main thread, thank you for the link!

So started yesterday, had a protein shake and then a chicken stir fry with loads of veg with rice BUT I had 3 gins and I was up most the night with awful nausea.

Today so far haven't eaten, I'm planning on another shake shortly as I am finally feeling a but hungry, then going to make a chicken stew for dinner, it's what I usually make if I'm feeling poorly as it's full of goodness.

Going away for Bank holiday in 4 weeks, wondering whether to miss a dose then so I can have a few drinks and enjoy myself (alcohol is a big part of my and my friends and family life) but I'll see how I'm feeling nearer the time.

How are you getting on OP?

I've had a positive week.. started on Tuesday and have had no bad side effects and some appetite suppression. I've actually dropped 2.8lbs and managed the gym 4 times so I'm feeling very positive. Wondering if this is because my body is somewhat used to this as I was on ozempic previously. Fingers crossed.

Hope you're getting on okay Smile
