Would anyone join in a small cheer for me being under 11st for the first time in about 4 years ?

I'm so chuffed with myself. I put on weight almost as soon as I met my now DH because of meals out and less opportunity to go to the gym. Then when I got pg that was an excuse to binge on scones, Green & Black chocolate and toasted paninis.

Fast forward to DS being 2 years, thought I would lose weight when I went back to work but due to EU chocolate mountain that didn't happen, then came off the pill ttc so good excuse not to bother. 8 months later and no positive signs yet, but fed up with being above my BMI at a constant 11 st 5 and not fitting into size 14s decided to do it properly instead of following faddy diets. Bought Rosemary Conley and am following roughly, basically just eating less and exercising more. I have only lost about 6 pounds and the last 1/2 pound may be due to vomiting bug yesterday, but I'm just so darned proud of myself.

Sorry just had to let someone know and DH is away with work.

Well done! 6.5lb is great! How long did it take you?

suzywong · 27/03/2008 09:29

good stuff!! I'm similar with the 11stone milestone. Get to it then just under then regain. Time I dug out the bike again

Thanks folks, bows modestly. Am 5 ft 6 and would like to get to 10st 7. Its only taken me about 6 weeks and I haven't done anything particularly revolutionary, except not eat as much chocolate. DH has bought me a huge Thorntons egg with lots of lovely chocs underneath, but think I will need to bring that into the office for others to devour if I am going to stay on the straight and narrow.

Fantastic Rookie. So, if I cut down on picking at stuff and start walking/running I may be able to do the same?

Well done again!!

Well done rookiemater - that's brilliant! 6.5lb is really good. You must feel soooo pleased. Keep it up

I lost nearly 4stone over 12 months and (touch wood) managed to keep it off for over a year now. My lifestyle has completely changed for the better. Love exercise and having extra energy. Can keep up with the kids now! I went from 12st 11lb to around 9st (size 14-16 to 8!). Now go running and do body pump, rpm and rebounding. New hobby: updating my serious depleted wardrobe with new stuff in smaller size!

Good luck.

6 lbs over 6 weeks is great and it should stay off as well

big cheer from here

Smithy · 27/03/2008 23:17

Hi Lisalisa
I did Slimming World - very easy once you get used to it. Coupled with getting active, I was losing at least 1lb a week and sometimes 3lb+.

Frizbe · 27/03/2008 23:26

well done

squilly · 28/03/2008 20:28

woo hoo. That's decided me...time to gt back on the wagon!

SniffyHock · 28/03/2008 20:30

Well done you!!! I'm stuck at 11st 3 (13st 6 last year) so it's great to hear your news. Off on holiday tomorrow but very determined when I get back. Would love to be 10st 5.

Really well done!
