Weight and periods

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Only started tracking my weight loss this month. Was doing one pound a week then got my period and lost nothing. Period ended a couple of days ago and I lost four pounds. Would love to think this because of diet and exercise but I am a bit suspicious...

Also am now worried that if the loss of because my period finished then I am going to be four pounds heavier tomorrow!

In my experience, period time makes your weight go up due to water retention caused by hormonal fluctuation, but it can't make your weight go artificially lower if that makes sense Smile

Even if you are 4 pounds heavier you need to understand it isn't fat, watch the trend rather than daily fluctuations. I went away this weekend drank a lot and ate an awful lot I gained 7 pounds of scale weight by Monday morning. By Wednesday morning I was 1 pound up and yesterday was back at the previous weeks weight.

I know it's hard for some but honestly don't give the scale any emotional clout it's a just a number and it will change hour by hour never mind day by day. Step on log it down and forget until the next day, if you go a few weeks with an upward trend then you know something is wrong and if the opposite happens and it's moving downwards, fantastic and carry on.
