I need to loose weight, my meals are overall healthy. I’m in a better place.

id much rather be out in the fresh air but realistically isn’t always possible for me. Can I please have positive stories about going to the gym ?3 times a week (realistically)

if I work hard and increase my fitness surely I’ll feel and look better for this? Help

I'm starting to enjoy the gym so much I will happily get up before 6 so I can go before work. This time last year, this was unheard of. I do the classes mostly and when I'm exercising regularly, I'm more motivated to eat well.

I have discovered weights in the last two years, and I was the most unhealthy no exercise person.

So I’d explore that.

..It’s very good for weight loss, toning up and for protecting your bone strength

Onetwothreefour1234 · 20/09/2023 17:27

Do you enjoy it or does it remain a chore? My motivation to continue is my biggest concern

Once I realised it was 'me time' and how awesome I felt afterwards, I started to enjoy it. With weights especially, you can feel the progress you make which is really encouraging. And some exercise is just a lot of fun and you're finished before you know it, like aerobics.

I haven't fallen in love with spin yet which I'm quite disappointed about 😆

NouveauNom · 20/09/2023 18:13

Go to classes and make friends who will notice that you're not there!

Vegetus · 20/09/2023 18:13

You have to find an aspect of it you enjoy, be that weights, cardio or classes.

I love lifting weights and hate classes for example.

AuntieMarys · 20/09/2023 18:20

I love spin and would do it every day if I could! Also weights/ strength training

Onetwothreefour1234 · 20/09/2023 18:30

So basically don’t over think it and just get there and get started 😁, thanks all.

Honestly sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s a chore, but once you’re in the habit you just do it.

I find going early really helps. If I get up and go, it's quite empty and I'm not being annoyed by other people. It also makes me feel like virtuous all day 🤣 Going after work can be more difficult as it's busier, I want my dinner or just want to chill out!

You do need to find your 'thing' tho. I love weights, no way could I go and just do cardio or a spin class. I love challenging myself to do better than the previous week, even if it's just 1 more rep overall. The feel good factor is worth it alone, building muscle and getting fit comes very much second.
