Gained 2 pounds overnight?

I’m currently loosing weight after gaining 2 stone during pregnancy.

I weigh myself each morning and for two days in a row, weighed the same which is the lowest I have been in a while, so was really pleased.

Then suddenly, it seems overnight I have gained 2 pounds.

What could cause this sudden increase?

Big poo required?

Most likely water retention. Unless you actually think you ate a 7000 calorie surplus yesterday, which is incredibly unlikely.

I always weigh heavier if I eat rice or pasta the night before

Probably water weight. This can vary depending on your last bowel movement, the temperature, how much water you drank yesterday, hormones, higher salt intake, more exercise, less exercise.

Go the loo and it'll probably be sorted. If not, you're likely to be due on.

I wouldn't weigh as often. I gain and lose at least 2 lb in the course of 24 hours. As long as the longer term trajectory is downwards that's ok

Just use the scales weekly or even better monthly or measurements only, your weight will vary massively from day to day hour to hour but as long as the overall trend is in the right direction I'd relax a bit.

I weigh myself every day and enter the weight on My Fitness Pal.

weight loss is like a jagged line, up down, up down and pound or two but over time its a downwards trajectory.

The weight figure that ONLY counts is the figure on a TUESDAY for me.
That allows me to genuinely see over the week how much is lost as water balances, hormones, gym work etc constantly alter the weight day to day
