Saxenda possibly not working?

Hi

I ordered Saxenda through ASDA two weeks ago and had notification that it was going to be delivered the Tuesday between 8:45 and 11:45 via Royal Mail. I had to work but my partner works from home 80% of the time and I had to ask him to not go into the office until after the delivery as I was told it had to go straight into the fridge.

Around 11:20 I received a notification that delivery has changed it now be delivered by 7:30pm. He therefore ended up staying at home all day until I arrived at 4:20. I stayed on my sofa by my big windows to make sure I didn’t miss delivery from the moment I got in. Around 5:55pm I received a notification that an attempt for delivery was made at 2:22pm but no answer so will try again. I immediately checked my two ring cameras that have different angles of the front of my house to see why I never received a notification that someone was as ringing my doorbell or that someone was as outside. There were no trace of any deliveries at all. Nor was a card left through my letter box. Our local depot closes at 6pm so I called the customer service line. All they could do was open a complaint and give me a reference to give Asda online doctors.

Sorry needed to explain. But next day I called Asda and they said that I would need it soon as before the cold chain breaks. It was finally delivered at 1pm to a neighbours house. My partner collected it at 4pm and put it in the fridge. I was told it could still work but they will try and send two more out after the 1st one finishes.

I used it for 11 days and I’m on 1.2 now as on my 2nd week. I have not felt anything which could be a good thing. But I was told it supposed to make you eat less and various other things but coming at the end of my first two weeks I’ve not once felt “full”. I lost less than a pound so far. I really don’t feel anything other than the fact daily I inject myself but feeling no different than usual.

Sorry for the stupidly long message. But can someone tell me does this mean it’s not working. “The cold chain” was broken hence no effect.

It should be working. Maybe once you are on 1.8 it will kick in

I don't know if it's because of the cold chain being broken. I'm not sure if it becomes in effective, you don't need to keep a pen cold once the first dose is taken. It can stay out of the fridge

Take the extra pens though!

It won’t be a cold chain issue as once you are using the pens they are fine at room temp under 30c for a good 30 days and you are still well within that on your first pen. It’s only the extra pens you need to be keeping in the fridge until you start using those. Not the one you are currently using.

It may be that you are one of those people that need to get further up the dose before you have a noticeable effect and there are people that it simply does not work for too.

Also this may sound stupid but is the plunger definitely moving down the clear window part of the pen? There was a poster on another thread who unbeknown to her hadnt actually been injecting herself when she thought she had, none of it was actually going into her.

So was pressing the button down but not waiting for the dial to wind down to 0 or then keeping it pressed down for a good 6 seconds afterwards before releasing the button.

I would maybe try to be patient and go up to the 1.8 dose at 2 weeks and see how that is. If you can then still eat a lot of eg carbs without being defeated and having to give up after only a smaller portion than normal then I’m not sure it’s working for you as no way I can do that and it forces me to stop
