I’m starting meal replacement today please join me. I don’t want any comments on why this is not a good way to lose weight please! I got demotivated last time I posted under a different username. I know what works for me and it’s this. So please join me!

SW: 10.7
GW: 9.7

so I will have a shake for breakfast and lunch then a healthy low calorie meal for dinner. 3 snacks under 100 calories. I will try to excercise 20 minutes a day.

let’s do this!

What shakes are you using and why do you prefer them to proper food?

orangegato · 29/04/2023 07:45

I love these, are you on Slimfast or something else? I can’t be trusted with proper food and I think these are actually a good way to go to lose a few pounds as it creates a calorie deficit the same as any other diet so why not.

orangegato · 29/04/2023 07:46

But I’m still having my bacon butty this morning. Maybe I’ll replace lunch 😀

Great thank you both for joining! I had a really strict day yesterday but today as bank holiday weekend I’m going to be less strict. I’ve had my morning shake but gonna have normal dinner and lunch. Gonna start back properly on Tuesday. Weighed myself this morning and I’m 10.5 stones! No idea how I lost 2lb on day 1. Before kids I lost 3 stones on slim fast and kept it off pretty much till I had my first kid. It does work. I hate hearing people say “we’ll just eat a normal meal” like duh if I could go that I wouldn’t be fat!

I meant till I had my youngest kid. So kept it off for a good 5/6 years. Lockdown was when I put it on tbh.

@orangegato just have a shake now for lunch then healthy dinner.

How did you keep it off once you'd lost it last time?

marriage23 · 29/04/2023 20:12

@AutisticLegoLover well I lost 3 stones via slim fast gor my wedding day and then to maintain I would just have shake for breakfast, normal lunch and dinner. No alcohol except weekends. Once a week I had a takeaway. I kept it off for a long while. I think now I’m struggling as I’m not so active and tend to just zone out infront of tv rather than go out n about,

It is difficult but once I start it’s easier. I’m gonna start from Tuesday, I have family around now do will be drinking n eating loads!

I'm not joining you but just wanted to say that although I'd be concerned about the sweetness and the ingredients of shakes, I can really see how helpful they'd be. A good part of the whole world's obesity problem is the sheer instant availability of high carb, low nutritional value food. Shakes (or bars or meals) give people a real impetus to knock all that on the head, you know what's coming next and when and it's simple and can be easily prepared wherever you are. I guess too that they're helpful when you have non-standard (9-5) work days or chaotic shift patterns. Go Team Shakes, I hope it works for you.

How did you get on with this. I have a managed to stick to exercise in January, now need a kick up the backside with food!
