Messed up Ozempic Injection

Please advise! On Sunday I took my first .25 dose of ozempic. The thing is, I didn’t feel a thing. Could not even feel a tiny bit of the needle going in and now I’m wondering if I did it wrong?

I didn’t prime the needle either. I’ve had zero side effects, my appetite feels normal and in fact, I was craving chocolate last night.

I’m thinking of injecting another dose tomorrow (it will be three days) but obviously I’m concerned about having a double dose if it did go in.

what do you all advise? Thanks x

Speak to your prescribing doctor.

That you speak to a doctor and read up on how the drug you are taking works.

AutumnCrow · 18/04/2023 18:27

What kind of injection is it that you used? If it's like the injection 'pens' that I use for a different medical condition, then you have a protocol for use - there's a little window where you check the fluid and a push & spring mechanism. It's really hard to get wrong iykwim.

I can't feel the needle go in half the time either it's a tiny needle

i do always prime it though, but I wouldnt inject sooner without talking to a dr, much better you miss a dose than double up especially when you are in the adjusting to it phase

did you take the second cap off the needle? I didn’t for the first 11 days of saxenda 😆

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 18/04/2023 18:47

@Endeavormorse - I almost didn't take it off the first time either taking Saxenda!!!😅

Yes, I think i managed to do that! Lol

I did read up about it and it said not to take another dose until at least three days after the previous one. I’ll leave it til I'm supposed to do it on Sunday I think.

thanks for all the replies 😊

Did the pen go from 0.25mg to 0? If it did then you should be ok. It's normal not to feel much when you inject as the needle is so fine.

SpringIntoChaos · 18/04/2023 20:36

I never feel the needle...but I do get a small bruise each time after, so I know it's gone in. It's so fine OP that many people barely notice it.
