Mysimba / contrave

Just wondering if anyone has tried Mysimba for weight loss? There is an old thread, but I thought I’d start a fresh one.
I bought some ages ago, took one tablet and had horrific gastric symptoms. The kids all had a bug a few days later, so it probably wasn’t the tablets, but it put me right off!

…….. until today. I got up this morning and thought I’d try again. I’ve been thinking about ozempic, but didn’t want to spend any more money without trying these first. No side effects so far. I’ve read that headaches are common, but I’ve been fine. Haven’t ate any different to usual today, maybe less snacking as I cooked. But it has been a good day and I tend to be an emotional eater and late night snacker, so tests are yet to come.

my first goal is to lose just over a stone to take my out of the obese bmi category.

anyone out there on a similar journey?

name changed for this thread as it just feels a bit raw and personal. I’ve been here forever - hopefully saying penis beaker and yoni massage will stop you all thinking I’m just here to flog diet pills 😂

Hopeful bump in case there is anyone around doing this? Or maybe everyone is on ozempic these days!

Hiya, I've taken the plunge and bought some today. I've put 3 stone on and need to loose it. Feel awful. X

Good luck!
move given up. Constipation was killing me and I started having dizzy spells this week. Lost 8lbs, and i’m hoping they’ve helped me beat some bad habits.
might try again in a few weeks.

Hi new on here....just wondering what you folks think...been taking Mysimba for 5 days without any side effects & then suddenly on day 6 I had awful cramps...vomiting & the other - all whilst in the office. Stopped taking them for 3 days - not sure if tummy bug or not - don't kmow whether to try again ?? Anyone else felt like this...thanks xx

Dementedmummy02 · 08/05/2023 09:33

Sounds to me more like a tummy bug.

I've not started them yet, nervous to as heard so many bad things regarding sides effects. I have a very high paced job and I have to work and drive.

jopap · 08/05/2023 12:50

Hi thanks for the reply....my job is full on too & can't take the chance of being ill....my tummy is still a bit off 4 days later....really undecided as what to do !!! 😏

Dementedmummy02 · 08/05/2023 17:39

I've joined the Fb group, taken about 8 days to be accepted though but I've been advised to start on a weekend so then at least if I'm I'll, Im not at work. This month is pretty full on though, with parties and weekends away 🙈 and I don't want to start it with a hangover.

beguilingeyes · 08/05/2023 17:59

It was a miracle drug for me. I lost three stone and my cravings vanished.

Dementedmummy02 · 08/05/2023 21:39

Wow. That's amazing and so positive. I don't have cravings, just need to reduce my appetite. Did you experience side affects?

jopap · 08/05/2023 22:21

I started mine st a weekend, no side effects at first but 5 to 6 days later I was so ill - the violent stomach pains were 100 times worse than labour !! Do I give another go in the hope it was a bug ???? 😀

beguilingeyes · 09/05/2023 07:33

None at all. Appetite reduced also. Oddly I would feel really hungry and then be unable to eat very much.

Sathy12 · 22/06/2023 10:57

Hi, I’m 3 weeks in and loving it! It’s amazing not to be thinking about food all day long such a strange feeling!
ive got a hen party this weekend but I’m slightly nervous to be drinking whilst taking them. Considering stopping for a couple of day.
Has anyone had a boozey night and experienced side effects?

Dementedmummy02 · 22/06/2023 15:52

I still drink on a weekend and it has had zero effect on me x

Jetty1 · 04/11/2023 18:23

I’ve been taking mysimba 2 weeks. Can’t up the dose as I have felt so sick. Actually taking half a tablet a day now. Don’t want to give up as it cost so much. Do the side effects pass?
