Ozempic - upping the dose

SueTirza · 22/03/2023 11:58

Im due to be upping my Juniper Ozempic dose from 0.25 to 0.5ml on Saturday when I will be flying off for a holiday and I am concerned that I might get exacerbated side effects. Does anyone who has gone up felt that their side effects worsened? Also, I have loads left in my 0.25 pen and see that others have used their pens beyond 4 weeks - if I was to do this and use my 0.25ml pen, would I dial up 0.25 then do a second straight away to get a 0.50ml dose? Thanks

To use up the extra in the pen after 4 weeks at 0.25 I've bought some new needles and I'll use it to do the first two 0.5 doses. I had just planned to inject as usual and straight away dial up another 0.25 and inject.

slowsundays · 22/03/2023 14:36

There are 4 0.25mg doses and 2 0.5mg doses in the one pen and the pens are good for 6 weeks so absolutely use it up.

Have you had side effects so far? I've just moved up to 0.5mg on Monday and so far I'm far more full but no adverse side effects apart from some heartburn and burping.

slowsundays · 22/03/2023 14:36

And yes, two shots of 0.25 for 0.5

Thanks everyone- I am not really suffering with side effects- I feel awful if I drink alcohol and yesterday I overdid the smoked salmon and lived to regret it, but nothing major. I’m thinking I will use .5 out of my initial pen. I have the next one already but I will keep it in the fridge. Do the Juniper people frown on you doing this? I get the feeling that they do?

They tend to frown on it because it's less money for them. You still have two 0.5mg in the pen.

montysma1 · 23/03/2023 01:14

Can i ask what and where you buy extra needles?

SueTirza · 23/03/2023 05:26

I thought as much regarding Juniper. Can you hold them off from sending the subscription pens without issue for a couple of weeks? I already have my next pen in the fridge and another one will come in 4 weeks, so I will be stacking them up!!

I got my needles from an online pharmacy- if you Google Ozempic needles they come up. I stupidly ordered 8mm which are double the size of the ones you get with the pen- hey ho!!

Hi everyone, I want to start Ozempic - I struggle so badly to get any weight off with PCOS. Does Juniper have a referral scheme for new customers? I will pay the going rate if I have to but if there's a new starter deal to be had that would be cool. I want to start with a service rather than an online pharmacy. Thanks!

MuMuMuuuum · 23/03/2023 19:54

@montysma1 the size of the needle you need is on the side of the box. These are the ones I bought from Amazon and worked fine with my pen to get an extra dose

Hiya, if you use the code FRIEND50, you will get £50 off your first month with Juniper. www.myjuniper.co.uk I think you have to mention me (Suzanne Rose) to prove it’s not a random code, but then I get a reward too! So I’m happy with that! It’s £195 per month btw

@slowsundays I'm confused about the pen and what doses you can get out of it.
Mine is a 0.25 pen and it says it is 1.5ml
Does that mean only 4 "* 0.25 and ones 0.5?
Everyone seems to say 2 * 0.5.
Sorry if I'm being daft

pcosstruggles · 23/03/2023 21:00

Thank you!

I will order this shortly. I’m nervous but so excited that something may be able to help me! I don’t weigh enough to get help through the NHS but I am a few stone overweight and can’t shift it no matter what I’ve tried! I’ve been so disciplined and get so little in results, I’m relieved to have a new avenue!!

pcosstruggles · 23/03/2023 21:11

I've ordered Sue and gave your name. The discount code worked too. Thanks so much 😁
It all starts here!!

I ordered mine from Manual
Definitely 4 x 2.5 shots plus an extra 2 x .5 shots. Extra needles are a good idea.

5llbs lost in the first week I am delighted.

Someone gave me a code which gave me my first .25 pen for £129 and extra vitamins at half price.

RichTeaCheddars · 23/03/2023 23:25

Thanks, mine was from manual too. I think I've just confused myself with regards to what's left after 4* 0.25. definitely have loads left after 3 doses

SueTirza · 24/03/2023 04:57

Amazing! I see the other messages about free vitamins from Manual, which is great…with Juniper you get some digital scales and a tape measure, the community is pretty big and supportive too. Good luck! I just weighed in after 4 weeks as a menopausal 57 year old who has tried everything to shift my very stubborn paunch and I have lost over 4 kilos!
