Have got about 2.5st to lose. Couldn't sleep in the night and joined a gym. Really really need to do it this time as the health is off the scale, I also binge a lot so need to cut this. Does anyone want to start on the 1st with me and cheer each other on?

I do. I’ve put on 4 stone since lockdown - a result of long covid, menopause and a miserable marriage. I need to do something about it. The gym sounds good, what’s your plan?

I started a week ago with a total of 2 stones to lose.
Generally healthy-ish lifestyle, therefore it will be mainly the gym for me combined with cutting on some treats (no croissants, danish etc ). Maybe count calories, too. That or 16:8, but it’s more tricky.
Will try to up daily steps as well.

Why do you binge? To be very blunt that's what you need to sort out first and foremost via therapy and/or an eating disorder service. The gym is a great step in getting healthier but without the groundwork on understanding your disordered eating then it's not going to solve anything. I don't mean you need to share the whys here but kindly to yourself. You've taken a big step posting here and I wish you health and happiness Flowers

Yes, I will join you please. I have 3 st to lose.
I’ve been logging on my fitness pal since new year, which is what works for me, but not always meeting calorie goals. We’ve all been ill so appetite and energy for cooking have been all over the place.

Today I want to meal plan for the week, update the online shop with better choices and take the toddler round the farm park (it’s hilly!).

Good luck at the gym, when do you start?

Absolutely agree with this! I binge eat, been yo-yo dieting for years and after my daughter was born in 2021, decided to finally access help.

There are great charities out there, one of the best being BEAT. It really helped me lay the ground work. I think focusing on weight loss is one of the worst ways to loose weight long-term.

The concept of mindful eating is really helpful and was something I was introduced to through therapy, there are loads of guides online. Good look OP!

Yes me too please. Binge eat less but still do sometimes. Have tried every diet going and do not stick at them. Soooo need to lose 3 st this yr,,,, any help much appreciated

Yes, I definitely need to know the reason behind it but I need to start losing weight now. I lost 2 st before on fasting so hoping to do that again. It came back because I had a piece of cake then couldn't stop, I'm very much all or nothing.

I have done the things and unless I fall face first into a pile of buttered toast, will come in under calorie goal today. How is everyone else getting on?
