I noticed the last thread hadn’t been posted on for a long while so figured I’d start a new one if anyone is interest in joining.
I started on Saxenda yesterday in the hopes of loosing 4stone this year. I’m also doing slimming world but it comes off so slowly I figured this might give me that extra boost.
Yesterday I didn’t feel much effect until the evening when I struggled to eat all my dinner and then was full up all evening which was great because I can usually eat very healthy during the day whilst I’m at work, but struggle with the munchies in the evening and snack far too much. And this weekend at home is also a struggle as it is too easy to just graze all day but so far, I’ve only had my breakfast (branflakes) and not interested in anything else to eat. Fingers crossed for success

Has it been prescribed by your GP?
SW is supposed to be slow and steady and about building better eating habits. Saxenda needs to be for life because the research shows that all the weight is put back on once people stop taking the drug.

I have it prescribed via Lloyds pharmacy.
yes I do understand the slimming world method but with my peri-menopausal body it takes a bucket load of effort to loose just 0.5lb each week, and then I get demotivated and then start cheating etc. I know with sax people tend to gain when they come off but I wonder if that’s also because they didn’t change their eating habits as well? Just relied on the Saxenda to be the answer. I’m hoping combing both, I will be getting into better habits by changing my diet as well, along with a bit faster weight loss. I’m not expecting miracles like half a stone a week, but just 1lb, as opposed to half, would be nice.

I'm also peri-menopausal and just going for the basic use more energy than I eat. I've lost about 5lbs since 9th January. I walk at least 5 miles a day and yesterday did 25,000 steps which are mainly at pace and involve lots of big hills because where I live it's impossible to avoid the hills. I'm eating on average around 1500 calories a day I think. I can't quite remember what my fitness pal said yesterday. My goal is 1700 a day to lose one pound a week. No food is off limits as long as I stick to the calorie count. I'm down to 61.85kg today. My goal is 60kg by the time I go on holiday in 19 days. I'm not sure I'll make that but I'll try. I've stopped eating after dinner because that is my time when I'll easily consume 1000 calories of sweets or chocolate or lentil chips.
Good luck however you do it 😊

You don't put it all back on when you stop taking it

I lost 3 stone early last year and I've dropped a bit more I no my own. Want to restart to lose more as I had to stop due to expense
