Calorie counting - what's your number

If you will be calorie counting, what number are you aiming for and what will your week look like?

My bmr is around 1600, my sedentary tdee is about 1500 so I was thinking of aiming for 1400 per day.

I need to be as low carb as possible, and want to follow an anti-inflammatory diet too.

No alcohol, minimum 2l water a day.

Thinking of omelette for breakfast, salad for lunch and soup for dinner. I like to have structure and know what I'm having.

And an eating window of 12-8.

I'll aim to do some sort of activity every day; gym, youtube class, swimming, walking, yoga maybe.

Are you sure your tdee is right? Are you already quite slim?

My maintenance tdee for sedentary, with a BMI of 19.5, is 1,546.

My BMI has gone up to 29 so I'm aiming for 1300 every second day and about 800 every other day. That worked for me before. It's so mind boggling reading that somebody can eat 1,550 a day and have a bmi of 19.5! Wow. Everybody is different.

Those numbers in the op were what I got from online calculators last night.

This is what I get as your tdee.
your weight loss calorie target with a tdee of 1811 is (if you reduce by 20%) 1,448. So calorie wise you were right but your op tdee just seemed far too low.

Ok.

I might aim for 1400 and 500 the next and do add too.

When I did that with 1200/500 and ultra low carb and an eating window, I lost about a stone in 2 weeks. I was a lot younger then though.

Hi All. Have been lurking and catching up on this thread as I d please love to join. This past week has been a great big disaster diet wise after doing so well the past few weeks since xmas. After giving up chocolate, cake, wine and crisps I have returned to them all with a vengeance since last Monday.

I need to get back on track before all my hard work gets gone!! I resonate a lot with what you've all been saying and have started tracking mycals this morning. Firstly I'm giving up chocolate as this is my nemesis (last night I polished off so much I felt sick ) once I've given it up for about a week I stop craving it but once I start again I will eat mountains of it as no off switch. The same with wine. Then wine leads to crisps....
Anyway Ive made a start. A new week and all that and hope to lose about half a stone plus the couple of pounds I've probably put back on last week by end of may.
