Eat when hungry stop when full

Just the title really, I'm going to eat when hungry and stop when full, I've gotten to a point where I can no longer follow SW, it's messed my relationship up with food so much. So anyone used this way of eating and lost weight? How did you find it? I'm hoping going back to basics will reset my relationship with food and help shift the unhealthy weight I'm carrying

I’ve tried so many ways including this one. My challenge has been not feeling full until incredibly stuffed! So I could eat and eat and eat some more.

do you tend to notice when your full? It’s something like 20 mins for your brain to properly register so I guess you could try and eat a meal over that time frame and see how you feel at the end.

This is essentially what I am doing alongside listening to Slimpod every day. I have lost over a stone since Sept 1st.

I've done calorie counting, slimming world etc before but it is so restrictive.

I am a huge emotional eater and could happily carry on eating packets of biscuits even though I was full and feeling sick. But I haven't felt the need to do that in the last 6 or 7 weeks.

I wish you every success. We all know what to eat to be healthy but need to try to listen to our bodies more. This is the difficult part.

I do this successfully- lost that difficult extra stone many years ago. I can only do it now that I live alone and cba to shop/cook/think about food unless I’m hungry. If I’m not hungry I don’t eat just because it’s meal time. I do eat at random times of day.

Oh, and if I’m exceptionally tired and emotional I eat a whole packet of biscuits, but not often and I try to buy the smallest packet. None in the cupboard.

There's a 20 minute lag on communication between stomach and brain. If you wait till you are really ravenous before eating you will feel you need to eat a lot more than if you eat half an hour before it gets to that point you can stop sooner. Once you are eating, you don't start feeling full untill about 20 minutes after you have had enough so if you plan to eat until you feel full you will have eaten more than you need to.
