2 stone in 8 weeks?

Hi All

I have a lot of weight to lose and I'm really struggling with motivation at the moment. I think it would help to have a specific goal in mind and in 8 weeks I have an event coming up - if I could get 2 stone off I think that would be enough to make me feel alot better and also fit in to some clothese I haven't been able to wear for ages.

So is it doable? Has anybody else lost that much in 8 weeks, how did you do it? Any tips would be appreciated!

xx

That's not wise nor easily doable.

Anyone encouraging it is irresponsible.

I did it with Cambridge weight plan a few years ago. Average loss was a stone a month on Sole source though I believe it has changed now the results may be similar. I never got as big as I was when I started though I am yet to get to 9 sone. I went from 16 to 12.

That's a huge amount in only 2 months. I haven't ever lost weight that quickly but once lost half a stone over a weekend when I had gastroenteritis and I def wouldn't recommend that method! After that I totally lost my sweet tooth, not touched chocolate since and have lost nearly 1.5 stone but that's been over 6 months and is the fastest I've ever lost weight. I also lift weights or swim twice a week, plus walk at least 30 mins a day. A friend does something like Lighter Life and lived off shakes and noodles for about 4 months and had a quick weight loss, not as much as 2 stone but maybe 1. But they are horrible meal replacements and she's not really happy while on it. For me cutting carbs and sugar has the fastest results, try to cut all junk, fill up on protein and water, no snacks, find a good outfit you feel confident in and just enjoy your event.

I've been doing keto 800. Lost 14 pounds in 5 weeks. Weight loss is slowing down into this second month though so aiming for 6/7 pounds off. I have cheated a couple of times too so I've not been strict 100% of the time. It's been quite easy to stick to. I did IF with it too so only eat between 1pm and 8pm.

The bigger you are the more weight you can loose in general as a heavier person will burn more calories than a lighter person walking the same distance (approximately).

Two stone sounds like a huge amount. But surely even loosing a stone would make you feel more confident for your event? Please don’t get into the mindset that it’s two stone or nothing and failure.

I would suggest that as well assorting out food, get an activity tracker and up your steps.

I am 10st 10 and burn approximately an extra 500 calories when I do 15k steps than if I do 4k steps. So I do this every day even if it means doing a walking workout or walking around the house. This is addition to moderating your food will really help to shift the weight quicker.

The other tip I would say is start now, not tomorrow or Monday but now.

2 stone would be VERY difficult, and not advisable. 1 stone is very achievable though (depending on your starting weight) and should make a difference to how you feel.

I am doing 16:8, with 1 day a week OMAD and low carb (not keto). I lost a stone in just over 5 weeks.

I have done it in the past. Its not good at all. I used TMR. Bloody grim, messed up my hormones, hair fell out and created a strange, dangerous attitude to real food.

I put it all back on plus extra.

This time I have lost 2 stone since 1st June eating healthily, plenty of protein, veg and fruit. Another 2 to go.

SugarDatesandPistachios · 07/10/2022 14:43

It depends what percent of your total body weight that is. So if you’re say 11 stone… no chance but if you’re 20 stone… maybe etc.

Plus why such a big amount? Any weightloss will be good. Sounds like you’re going to go at it too extremely and then fail. Like you only want to do it if you can see 2 stone loss? Try not to think in absolute weight loss and more in ‘get healthier, feel healthier, feel better’

SugarDatesandPistachios · 07/10/2022 14:45

And I echo the tip above of start now, I’m always dubious of people who say they’ll start next Monday etc.

My tip would be don’t make anything out of bounds otherwise then the forbidden lure of it will trip you up! E.g chocolate is banned then you have a stressful day and eat 4 bars etc because you want it so badly!

Thanks for the responses everyone. I put the last three stone on in a very short period of time and that is why I feel like I need to see a good loss - I struggle to stay motivated if I just lose a small amount because I was so much lighter not that long ago. Really appreciate all the tips though and well done to all of you who have lost weight!

You didn't put 2 stone on in 8 weeks so to lose it in 8 weeks is hard and I can guarantee you'll put it straight back on anyway.

I've lots 25lbs in 7 weeks on Cambridge 1:1 diet. Will let you know on Thursday if I make two stone in two months! Good luck
