Anyone want to join and share experiences?
Currently TD2 and obese. Size 18/20. Would ideally love to lose 6-7stone.
Injected at 8pm last night, started on 0.5 as there is a shortage of 0.25 pens. Done loads of research, and injected into my thigh rather than tummy.

So far i have been ok, was warned by GP about side effects being worse on 0.50. Felt mild nausea on and off, nothing major.
So far had i 200g protein yogurt and some melon. Normally by now would have grazed all morning.

Drank 1l water so far.

Will check in later :)

I’ve bought 0.5 privately start on Monday!

97kg starting weight. Lowest I’ve been is about 85kgs. I think I want to be around 80kgs.

Just started Ozempic - how are the PPs doing now?

RaspberrySweeties · 10/09/2022 18:20

I'm considering stopping after 9 days which is a bit pathetic I know.

I have 20 lbs I want to lose and I'm not sure if I was a bit hasty in taking it

I've taken 2 doses to date, 0.25 each time. I've spent the week feeling sick, headachey and not sleeping at all well. Have been sick 3 times in total - twice having to make myself sick as was so so nauseous

So maybe I should stick it out longer but I just don't think I can tolerate the side effects and these are probably relatively mild ones!

Cyanchicken · 10/09/2022 19:49

I'm injecting in my hip / thigh - that's supposed to minimise side effects. Have you tried that?

RaspberrySweeties · 10/09/2022 19:58

@Cyanchicken I did! Once in my stomach and once in my thigh

I also was reading it's supposed to be viewed as a long term thing and I definitely don't want to take it for months and months

Yes - I've kind of accepted I may be on it long term. I'm about 3 stone overweight and heart / diabetes lie in my future if I don't manage my weight better as it's rampant in both sides of my family. I also find it extremely difficult to lose weight (on a 'perfect' month 1500 cals a day, 1 hour walking every day I might lose 2 lbs) . I'm 5ft 7 and about 200lbs.

Once I get to where I need to be - I will taper and hope to change my habits - but if the weight goes back on I accept I might need to look at a lifelong dependency on this medication.

Hi all

Just an update. I have stayed on 0.5 as i tried to go up to 1mg and my god i felt so sick. My GP is fine with this for now, and i am due to get some bloods done to see how my sugars are.
Weight loss wise, i have hit the 8 week mark and lost 22lbs. I have lost 7 inches all over. I normally end the day on around 800-1200 calories a day.
I have learnt prety quickly what I can and can't eat. My meal size is probably a quarter of what i used to eat, and i dont always manage that!
Its a massive learning curve to get used to not putting a lot of food on my plate, and I was bought up not to waste food. Can anyone else relate?

Happy to share food diaries, etc. Hope everyone is doing well. For anyone thinking about it, it is an adjustment your body gets used to it, but i have to say it is a bit of a miracle drug for me!

Great to hear updates from other people! That’s incredible weight loss - you must be thrilled!

I’m due to go up to 1mg next week but I’m losing weight still on 0.5 so might just see if I can do another couple of weeks on it and then maybe move to 0.5 mg every 5 days instead of 1mg per week. My daily calorie intake is about 1500 though and I try make sure I eat that amount.

i am starting to have some side effects now I think but they aren’t the common ones - so tiredness is definitely an issue for me and now this weeks I am having the most awful nightmares and waking up in a slight panic. It takes a while to calm down and get back to sleep. Is anyone having those side effects?

Cyanchicken · 15/09/2022 16:33

And yes - I do need to get used to serving myself smaller portions! My ingrained habit of finishing everything on my plate needs these smaller portions!
